OKTOBERFEST 2008
This past weekend I attended the B.C.C.A. Coal Cracker Chapter’s annual Oktoberfest Breweriana Show in Wilkes Barre, PA. This was the 29th year for this event which took place at the Ramada Hotel on the Town Square. The fun started with a Friday night hospitality room, plus room to room socializing and breweriana changing hands. Some people missed out on part of the evening’s activities, as they were making sure that the tables were in place, and numbered for the next day’s show. Specifically Jerry Matonis and Len Chylack. The ladies of the club did an excellent job in setting up and preparing the food for the hospitality room. Believe me, no one was going to leave hungry. To wash down all the goodies was a keg of the Lion’s Brewery’s Oktoberfest beer. I acquired a few extra pounds in both the hospitality room, and in the form of 16oz Yuengling cans for my collection.
Saturday morning the show was in full swing and continued into the afternoon. There were some great cans on display. Also an abundance of signs, trays, tap knobs, crowns, etc. I picked up a few more cans, but I made many more friends. I can’t wait until they have their next show.
